The ‘Smile’ singer revealed on social networking website Twitter that the incident – which involved Adele being stopped from completing her speech due to time constraints – symbolised the disrespect for females working in the music business.

Allen tweeted: “I’d rather hear adeles acceptance speech. I can’t say I’m surprised. It was like the music industry’s attitude to women played out as a metaphor.”

Meanwhile, Professor Green also waded into the debate by tweeting: “Can’t say I agreed with the cutting off of Adele”

ITV have since released a statement apologising for the incident, while host James Corden admitted afterwards that he was “upset” about having to stop the singer.

The Eel Pie Island band will play an extensive set of dates over the spring months, beginning in Leeds on 28^th March and running through until 18^th May where they will finish up at O2 Brixton Academy in London.

The band’s upcoming album ‘Radlands’ will be the follow up to 2010’s ‘Serotonin’ and is due for release in April. Having begun recording in Austin, Texas last summer, frontman Blaine Harrison remarked that the band needed to get away to “the furthest place from everything we knew” in order to capture a raw sound for the upcoming album.

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he was inspired to play the guitar by Eric Clapton.

The 21-year-old singer told Absolute Radio that he had learned to play the musical instrument after seeing the legendary guitarist perform at Britain’s Queen Elizabeth’s Golden Jubilee celebrations at Buckingham Palace in 2002.

He said: “I’m playing the Queen’s Jubilee, which I’m really looking forward to. I actually started playing guitar after her last jubilee, I saw Eric Clapton play and I said, ‘I want to play guitar’, so yeah, it’s going to be brilliant to go and do that.”

Clapton is recognised as one of the greatest guitarists of all time and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times: once as a solo artist, and also as a member of both The Yardbirds and Cream.

Meanwhile, Sheeran won Best British Male and Best British Breakthrough at the Brits last night, but admitted to the radio station that he would have liked to have won Best Album – but accepts that Adele deserved to win.

He said: “Any act would want the Best Album, but I think every single act tonight who is up against Adele needs to just accept that this is Adele’s year and she is going to take the awards.”

Speaking to nme.com the band’s frontman Barry Hyde said “We’ve got so many plans for this year. We’re putting on our festival Split for the fourth time. We’re doing a massive food event in Sunderland in June, which we’ll be performing at. It’s all to do with the Olympics. Our world is evolving in quite an unusual way”.

The band, clearly busy boys, are also in the process of writing for a new studio album (Rant is a collection of covers and previous Futureheads stuff re-worked in a capella).

Hyde said “We’ve already starting writing for the next album. We’ve got a lot of ideas and I think we’ve really opened things up for ourselves now with this album.”

The High Flying Birds Star was blogging for the Huffington Post on his regular blog Tales From the Middle of Nowhere about his recent travels on tour, where he focussed on the bizarre cuisine of the hotel he was staying at in Belfast.

Speaking about the food he ordered at the hotel, Gallagher wrote: “This dish (Chicken Maryland) consisted of some kind of chicken, whether it was fried or not is still not apparent, BUT it came with a banana (which was most definitely fried!). That’s right, a fried banana AND a fried pineapple!!!! Now I’m no chef, but f*ck me that can’t be right, can it? That top Michelin star psycho Gordon Ramsay would have garrotted whoever came up with that masterpiece… Sorry?

However, Gallagher appeared to love the fried fruit.

“But what did it taste like, you ask?? Absolutely delicious!! It didn’t even touch the sides,” he added.

The former White Stripes man’s first solo album comprises 13 tracks, with the new LP set to be released on April 23 through Third Man Records/XL.

Speaking about the album, White previously said: “I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”

The singer was annoyed that host James Corden interrupted her speech when collecting her Album of The Year award for ‘21’ due to time constraints, then made the angry gesture towards the Brit Award bosses. Watch the video of the incident below.

Speaking about the incident afterwards, she said: “I was cut off during my speech but I wanted to thank the British public for all their support. I was held up with my voice and troubles but the album kept walking without me.

“I flipped the bird for the suits at the Brits who cut me off. Sorry if I offended anyone but it was for them, not for the fans.”

Meanwhile, James Corden later revealed on ITV2′s The Brits Backstage that being forced to interrupt Adele had angered him.

Asked about how he felt the ceremony had gone, he replied: “I’m alright – I just feel bad about having to cut Adele off. I really don’t understand quite why I was made to, but it’s not a very nice way to end.

“I was having the best night of my life but then I had to cut Adele off before she had a chance to say thank you – she’s the biggest star in the world.”

Adele and Ed Sheeran were the main winners on the night – winning two awards each.

Sheeran won the ‘British Male Solo Artist’ and ‘British Breakthrough Act’, while Adele – in a less successful night than her recent domination of the Grammys – won ‘British Female Solo Artist’ and the ‘British Album’ prizes.

Accepting the ‘British Breakthrough Act’ award, Sheeran said: “I have to thank the fans, they voted for this. For each and every person who voted, thank you so much.”

Meanwhile, Adele told the adoring crowd during her ‘Best Bristish Female’ acceptance speech: “It’s been an amazing year, I want to thank my record company for letting me be the artist I’ve always wanted to be.”

In the other major awards, Coldplay beat Arctic Monkeys and Elbow to the ‘Best British Group’ crown, while One Direction caused a shock by winning the ‘British Single’ award for ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ – beating strong favourite ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele. See the full list of winners below.

Lead singer Leah Siegel has the alluring visual aesthetic that could break the band with a mainstream audience (one which, these days, is seemingly obsessed with those that look ‘cool’). The video for new single ‘Our Hearts’ projects what could well be a new ‘star’ in full force as she dances around glancing effortlessly with sexual appeal at the camera. Her voice sinks with breathiness at points and swaggers with knowing confidence at others, providing the listener with an interesting mix of part-emotional vulnerability, part-showgirl idiosyncrasies.

The deftness of their approach is really highlighted in the weepy ‘If You Don’t Want to be Alone’, which accompanies an advert for the Topsy Foundation’s advert on reversing the effect of Aids on human lives. This song in particular, with its sparse, reverberated rhythm guitar and call to poignant rationalising could well break the band.

What we seemingly have, then, is a captivating front-woman leading a band with thought-arousing sonic leanings against songs catchy enough for airplay. It seems as if the world really could be Firehorse’s oyster.
