Simian Ghost

November 14, 2011 1

Fans of M83 and Active Child will love the dreamy vocals and relaxing rhythms crafted by Sebastian Arnström of Simian Ghost. The Swedish indie/chillwave trio has been establishing a steady fan base in their hometown and has supported Mount Kimbie, Niki & The Dove and SBTRKT in Sweden. Their latest single ‘Bicycle Theme’ has already captivated the likes of Stereogum, The Line Of Best Fit and The Culture of Me to name just a few.

The trio released their new EP, ‘Lovelorn’ on 14th November 2011, which features an array of blissful tracks. This remarkable EP echoes a  similarity to the very successful Two Door Cinema Club with its catchy pop elements, however there’s no doubting that Simian Ghost haven’t created their own sound.  The band excels at blending soft electronic melodies with beautiful vocals, seducing you into a world of tranquillity. The EP flows naturally throughout making it the perfect record to listen to in its entirety.

Simian Ghost originally started as a recording project with Sebastian Arnström performing the vocal, guitar and drum elements. He experimented with a range of different instrumental noises that provided the foundations of which Simian Ghost was built upon. As attention began to spark in his favour, he expanded the band to form a live performance outfit with guitarist Mathias Zachrisson along with his talented younger brother Erik Klinga on drums.

Having captured the media’s hearts with ‘Lovelorn’ I’m sure it won’t be long until the UK hook onto the sweet soothing sounds of Simian Ghost.
