Who is this?

Treasures are a rising five member Alternative/Pop Punk band from Basingstoke who formed late 2011. With their success from EP Sons of Our Fathers they have had a hectic 2013 with two UK tours supporting IRIS and These days. After the hype of their EP and tours Treasures are onto recording their début album Blood and Bones which is set to drop May 2014 and have also recorded their latest video for the next single ‘Rest of the World’ which is now available.

What do they sound like?

Deciding that the sound of Sons of Our Fathers wasn’t working after being influenced heavily by bands such as Young Guns, Lower than Atlantis and Deaf Havana, Treasures needed to become more independent with their own sound. Their upbeat and pop punk-y riffs which you hear in ‘Keep Me Down’ doesn’t make them that much different from bands like Mallory Knox and old school Deaf Havana. However, this year there is rumoured to be more that Treasures have to offer. From the three songs available to listen to through their Facebook, Treasures do have the potential to be something big, having shared stages with bands like Don Broco and The After Party.

Final verdict

They have another busy year having just performed at The Joiners, Southampton and are onto touring the UK in March. We are left anticipating with how this band can strive to achieve better things. With the promise of a new album that features a completely new twist, you should keep an eye out for them.
