Portishead’s Geoff Barrow says HAIM sound like Shania Twain

September 24, 2013 1

Portishead's Geoff BarrowPortishead’s Geoff Barrow has slammed HAIM, claiming the band sounds like Shania Twain.

The multi-instrumentalist took to Twitter yesterday (September 23) and made the comparison between the Haim sisters’ band and the ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ star, and made it clear that neither artist was to his particular taste.

Barrow tweeted, “Hiam [sic] sound like Shania Twain.. When did that become a good thing?”

This is becoming a semi-regular occurrence on the social media platform these days,  as Barrow slammed The Weeknd on Twitter back in July for using a Portishead sample on Twitter without his permission, and last week (September 17) he tweeted: “Really…Kings of Leon co writers have gone well down hill.”

Anyhoo, read our HAIM The Wire review. There is sadly no mention of Shania Twain though.
