James Murphy appears in a supporting role in a film at the Sundance Film Festival.
The LCD Soundsystem man appears in Rick Alverson’s new film The Comedy (alongside Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim) which apparently details the life of an aging New York hipster (Heidecker) who is emotionally disconnected from everyone around him.
However, the film’s reviews have not been favourable. For example, the Hollywood Reporter said ‘The Comedy comes off as self-reflexive and futile’ and the review on the IFC website had the reviewer claiming that the film had ‘more walkouts than anything else I’ve seen at the fest.’ See a clip of the film below.
A four-hour concert version of the LCD Soundsystem documentary Shut Up and Play the Hits is also expected to be screened at the festival.
