Britpop icons Blur have revealed that they will play a handful of Olympic concert warm-up dates in early August. The 4-date mini tour will begin in Margate on 1st August and will pass through Wolverhampton and Plymouth before the big finale in London’s Hyde Park on 12th August. Here the band will headline a special Olympic closing ceremony concert, which will also feature sets from New Order and The Specials.

Beady Eye have announced a one-off show at Warrington’s Parr Hall. Liam Gallagher and the boys will be playing the Cheshire town on 28th June 2012, with tickets being available via a lottery on the band’s website from 9am on Wednesday 16th May.

The Hives have announced a five-date UK tour in December. The tour kicks off at Bristol’s 02 Academy on December 10, they visit Birmingham, London and Glasgow before finishing in Manchester on December 15. The Swedish band are releasing their new album ‘Lex Hives’ on June 4th.

Biffy Clyro have announced they will play a one-off UK show in June. They will play the show on June 8th at Swindon’s Oasis Leisure Centre as a warm up for their festival performances at Download, Rockness and the Isle of Wight Festival.

Kate Nash has confirmed a summer tour to start next month. The ‘Faster Pussycat Run Run Tour’ will see the ‘Foundations’ singer play 12 shows across the UK throughout June, giving her fans a sneak preview of the new songs on her forthcoming third studio album.
