Singer, songwriter and guitarist James Morrison, released his third studio album The Awakening last year. The Awakening tour showcases the aformentioned album of the same name which reached number 1 in the album chart. Glenn Rossington, after recently witnessing a poor show at Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton, catches the singer in Birmingham at the O2 Academy.

Hot on the heels of their new album Aabenbaringen Over Aaskammen, Casiokids light up a grey January evening in London with their Scandinavian electro-pop at Cargo. We are not quite sure about the lyrics (they’re all in Norwegian), but these sound like love songs – and, like the band themselves, manage to pull off happy without ever being annoying.

It is very rare to find exceptional talent! The last decent Midlands band to get some success was The Enemy back in 2007. Fast forward to the end of 2011 and Wolverhampton’s returning heroes are headlining their second gig at the Wulfrun Hall.
