‘Good Girl’ is Surrey based Wildeflower’s debut single, evoking the sounds of the countryside and wet woodland walks. The 6-piece’s influences range from Nick Drake and Bert Jansch to Caribou and Four Tet, and conspire to create a delightful, hazy piece of folk-pop.

After selling half a million copies of debut album Conditions, – largely propelled by the brilliant hit single ‘Sweet Disposition’ – The Temper Trap’s comeback was always going to be interesting. ‘Need Your Love’ is the first single from their eponymous second album, and sees the band strive to recreate the formula that made ‘Sweet Disposition’ impossible to avoid back in 2009.

Southampton-based Band of Skulls’s brand of old-school rock has made them a welcome antidote to the considerably less gritty indie bands currently dominating the alternative scene. Latest single ‘Sweet Sour,’ the title track from their second full-length, certainly doesn’t leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Swedish electro-pop trio Niki and the Dove have slowly but steadily been making their way into the public consciousness. Having finished fifth in the BBC’s Sound of 2012, latest single, the melancholic ‘Tomorrow,’ makes a pretty good case for what should have been at least a top three finish.
