Paper Aeroplanes are Welsh duo Sarah Howells and Richard Llewellyn, who continue to peddle their brand of melodic Celtic-tinged, emotion-soaked pop reminiscent of Irish songstress Gemma Hayes or those old favourites, The Corrs.

The market for female singer-songwriters is clearly saturated, and Louisa Rose Allen (a.k.a. Foxes) is treading a well worn path. The Southampton born, London-based songstress released her debut album Youth in January, and ‘White Coats’ is the lead single from follow up EP Warrior. Allen’s pleasant enough vocals fail to soar above a song that fails to reach the heights of her competitors.

Folk-soul singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas has been at the centre of a veritable storm of hype over the last few months. Already drawing comparisons with the likes of Adele, she was approached by Bon Iver to support them on their U.S. tour following a sublime appearance on Jools Holland. Her new single ‘Lost and Found’ shows just what all the fuss is about.

Canadian singer-songwriter, Dan Mangan is going from strength to strength, a trend that he maintains on his latest single “About as Helpful” (Or, to give it its full title, ‘About As Helpful as You Can Be Without Being Any Help at All’). Taken from his Juno Award-winning album ‘Oh Fortune’, he has created one of his most sonically interesting tracks yet.
