Porcelain Raft (otherwise known as multi-talented musician Mauro Remiddi) have, with ‘Unless You Speak From Your Heart’, crafted a dreamy pop track that may leave the listener a little non-plussed after a single play. Be patient enough to give it a few tries, however, and it proves to be a real gem of a track.
Centered around Remiddi’s ethereal vocals, the synthesisers and loops that accompany them ensure that the track rolls along blissfully. Unfortunately, this soothing monotony is also one of the tracks main flaws, feeling like the song is lacking progression, with some parts so repetitive that they can soon become tiresome.
There’s a great deal to be said for this track from a promising artist, but ultimately “Unless You Speak From Your Heart” may be a little too understated for its own good.
